Help needed in reception of Thaicom 5
Dear friends
I'm using a FTA system which consist a 75cm dish, Universal LNBF and an FTA receiver. Currently its receiving signals from NSS 6 and Insat 4B.
By relocating I got ABS 1 signal also.

Now i want to receive Thaicom 5, is it possible for this system.
If yes then pls provide me details .
My current location is Dhar in M.P. India.
Friends pls help me........

HI anubis86
You can surely get Thaicom (ku) band signals. But most are encrypted i believe. If you are talking about C' band signals from Thaicom, its not possible with your set-up. For thaicom-C band u need a primefocus 180cm dish (min) with a C' band lnb..

Thanks for your reply.
I visited lyngsat for transponder detail.
There I saw many FTA channels. Will I be not able to receive them from my fta setup.
INSAT 4A is my another priority. Please suggest me for that too.

@anubis86,
Yes there are some ku band FTA channels on Thaicom, you may tune to it if you want, and surely can catch them as per your set-up i believe.

About Insat4A, all the TP's in 4A are used by Tatasky, and are encrypted. So no use for your FTA set-up.

practically some difficulties are their for getting the c band signals on Ku band dish.... as per my opinion you cannot get all channel and all transponder on ku band dish. atleast 120 cm dish needed . but atleast you will get one or two channel.. focus towards south east direction. let me know which satellite you are using i can guide you with referance of that... ok

RE: Help needed in reception of Thaicom 5
Hi Jitendra,

Increase your dish size to minimum 120cm or fix a Conical Scalar Ring on your LNB feed-horn mouth of your existing dish for increasing signal gain by some %.
